Boozer agrees to five-year deal with Bulls

A league source confirms that Utah Jazz free agent forward Carlos Boozer has agreed to a five-year, $80 million deal with the Chicago Bulls, giving the team some solace on the day that both Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade spurned its offers to come to the Windy City, and a 28-year-old power forward to team with point guard Derrick Rose and center Joakim Noah.

The deal, which was first reported by ESPN, does not include any options for either side in the deal, the source said, meaning Boozer will be signed through the 2014-15 season once he officially signs the deal. Players can begin signing verbally agreed to contracts on Thursday.

When the free agent negotiating period began last week Chicago looked in a strong position to acquire both Bosh and LeBron James, or Bosh and Wade, the Chicago native. But once Bosh decided Tuesday that he would not go to Chicago, and Wade opted to stay in Miami to play with him, the Bulls knew it would be next to impossible to woo James without having someone else already in tow, so they turned their attention to Boozer, the next-best power forward on the board. The source said Wednesday that the Bulls have no idea how the signing of Boozer will impact the decision of James, who is scheduled to announce where he is going Thursday night.

NBA Championship Game 3

If it wasn't already apparent, this is not the same series as the 2008 Finals. Mostly because of the Los Angeles Lakers.

In their 91-84 Game 3 victory, the Lakers, both as individuals and collectively, fought through a litany of situations that would have left them reeling and beaten. And they were tested from the very beginning. And then there was Derek Fisher, criticized so often for his age and difficulties guarding younger, faster point guards. With a little leeway from the officials -- it was an ugly, physical, foul-ridden game throughout -- Fisher was able to put his body on Ray Allen's as he chased him through screens, riding his hip and taking out the shooter's legs.

I'll not go as far to say the Lakers are in trouble. They are the defending champs and know how to survive on the road. If the lakers want to see game 6 in Los Angles, they must get some results from the beach. Farmer, Artest,Odem,and Brown.... must stand up and be counted. If Ray Allen had not shot so well in Game 2, the Lakers can easily be up 2 games to none. You know Kobe will be ready to defend Mr Allen and make him play defense in Boston. The key to beating boston is playing solid defense and scoring points. If the Lakers extend their exterior defense, and make the celtics put the ball on the floor... than the lakers will win. The Celtics like to shot jumpshots. Go inside and the lakers are the repeat champs ! Who know the lakers could sweep them in Boston. It will not be far fetched, especially since the Lakers have closed out series on the road. So, Boston don't take Kobe for granted. Paul Pierce mentioned that they will not be back in Los Angeles... please don't give kobe any logs to put gas on.... because he will light and burn the logs. Paul be careful what you ask for !

The lakers will have their hand full with the Phoenix Suns, but I thank they will win because of the size difference. The Lakers front line is too big for the Suns. The lakers beat the Suns 3 out 4 this year, but that was the regular season and the Suns are playing defense now. I thought I would never associate the Suns with playing tight defense.
